Neel Foundation & JBM Join Hands To Work For The Aid Of Thalassemic Children

Neel Foundation, an initiative of JBM Group, the leading auto component manufacturer for automobile industry in India today organised a voluntary blood donation camp to help children suffering from the fatal disease of Thalassemia. The blood donation camp was organised in association with Red Cross Society at JBM Industries plant at Plot No 269, Sector 24, Faridabad.

Mr. S.K. Arya, Chairman JBM Group was present on the occasion to motivate donors and support the fight against the deadly disease. Employees of JBM Group; their families and visitors actively participated in the camp and donated blood to support the cause and made this annual affair a success.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. S.K. Arya, Chairman, JBM Group said, “I would like to start off by my expressing my heartfelt gratitude to all my colleagues who have made this initiative a grand success year after year. The commitment of everyone to ensure that there is no scarcity of blood for patients who suffer from this ailment is commendable. Neel Foundation will continue to organise camps annually to their bit in society for building a healthy nation.”

Thalassemia is a serious inherited blood disorder. A child suffering from such a disease requires one unit of blood every two weeks. Survival of a Thalassemia major depends upon repeated life-long blood transfusions and iron chelation. As red blood cell transfusion is the most common treatment, the blood banks play a pivotal role in this.

Neel Foundation over years has been organising blood donation camps to commemorate Martyrs Day (23rd March) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
